Continue to promote countywide cooperation to re-establish the economic health and viability of our city and county
- Recruit and retain industry to attract and keep good paying jobs
- Provide quality affordable city services and customer satisfaction
- Promote county wide participation in securing countywide water and sewer and unified development and address transportation issues
- Prioritize neighborhood safety and livability city-wide
- Support and strengthen neighborhood watch organizations
- Expand our parks and recreation programs to provide positive activities for our youth and families
- Promote public safety city wide
- Initiate and continue partnerships to re-develop our center city, downtown and other blighted areas
- Promote customer service and business development
- Support public/private partnerships to continue to revitalize our center city
- Promote Gastonia as the second largest city in the Charlotte-Metropolitan Area
- Represent Gastonia in regional efforts to address the environment, transportation and smart growth
- Maintain best-practices initiatives in addressing homelessness, community policing, water quality, diversity, customer service and affordable housing
- Recognize expanded credibility and excellence throughout the community to encourage positive exposure in the region
- Utilize our new branding initiative and motto of “Great Place, Great People, Great Promise”
